Penn is a bit insecure, and so it wants to hear in your application that you think Penn is special and it really is your choice, not your backup for Yale (even if it is).

I did a lot to get inAug 15 2005Economics
I did a lot to get in. I was president of 3 clubs senior year and active in many more clubs throughout my high school years. I performed at the 99th percentile on all the standardized tests (I took 8 SAT IIs and 11 AP exams). I lead my school band to five 2nd places at state (in Texas) over 2 years. I also won three first places at state in band over the course of 2 years. I researched with a renowned string theorist and published my group's findings in the physical review D (national physics anthology). I won many awards for varsity basketball and varsity tennis including sportsmanship awards, MVP for junior varsity basketball, and 2nd and 3rd at state for tennis. I won first place for every single math, science, and latin award at my school for four straight years. I volunteered over 700 hours during my high school experience. I have many other accolades left unmentioned here.
